Compeer Youth Program Goals

• To provide screened, trained and appropriately matched community based volunteers who offer mentoring, support and a positive role model to young recipients of mental health services. These relationships will help maintain the health and integrity of the family unit as our most important community resource.
  

• To provide respite time and emotional support to families involved with high-risk youth. 
  

• To provide social, recreational and educational activities for caregivers, volunteers and youth, including community outings, social events and parenting workshops.
  

• To reduce the stigma towards children who are residents of mental health services and their families by conducting an extensive public relations campaign to educate the community in an effort to reduce the social isolation of this vulnerable population.
