About the volunteer:

• Your child's volunteer has been carefully screened, interviewed and trained before being matched in the Compeer program.
  

• The volunteer has agreed to meet with your child on a regular basis.  Scheduled times and activities should be mutually agreed upon between you and the volunteer.
  

About the relationship:

• Remember that the Compeer relationship is primarily between your child and the volunteer.  Siblings should not be included on outings on a regular basis.

• Both you and the volunteer should share the costs involved in outings with your child.

• We recommend that you discuss each outing with your child.  If you have questions or concerns regarding the activities in which the volunteer has the child involved, please contact the Compeer office as soon as possible.

• Get to know your child's volunteer so that you feel comfortable about him or her.  Open communication between you and the volunteer is strongly encouraged.
